Dial A Delivery

Dial-a-Delivery will be a new service from January 2021. This service will be FREE to our Dial-a-Ride members during 2021 but also available to non-members (Rhayader and LD6 district only) for a small fee (from £2.50 per trip). This service will offer collection and delivery of prescriptions, shopping, library books and takeaways. A ‘walk-assist service’ will also come under this provision, for those who would like assistance to walk into and around town for shopping and appointments. To book or for more information, contact the office on 01597 810921.

Community Cars
Community Cars are driven by a fantastic team of volunteer drivers, providing transport for hospital and other health-care appointments.  Other journeys (shopping, visiting friends etc) may be provided at our discretion.  Transport is available to residents living in Rhayader and the postcode of LD6. Journeys may be of any distance, at any time of the day, evening or weekends. Community Cars can be booked by people who do not qualify for non-emergency patient transport (NEPT), who cannot drive themselves, or do not have family or friends who are able to drive them to their appointment.  The driver receives a mileage allowance from passengers and there is a booking fee towards our office costs. Passengers on some benefits may be eligible for a refund from the hospital.  We also have a contract with the Wales Ambulance Service for patients eligible for NEPT (non-emergency patient transport) to hospital appointments including dialysis and cancer care. This service extends to the postcode of LD1.

Minibus Trips
As well as supporting our Dial A Ride journeys, our 16 seater minibus ARCHIE takes members on day trips throughout the year. Popular destinations include Hereford, Aberaeron, Ebbw Vale, and Carmarthen. Passengers are picked up from home in the mornings, and returned safely to their doors once back in town. He also goes on afternoon tea trips to Llandrindod lake, Elan Valley, local garden centres and wherever you want to go.....
