During the first lockdown of 2020, we adapted our Dial A Ride scheme into a Dial A Delivery Service to help ensure the safety of our members by delivering food, medicines and any other essentials to their door.
Due to the continuing uncertainty of these unprecedented times, as of January 2021, Dial A Delivery is now a permanent part of our Community Transport Services.
This is a FREE service to all of our Dial A Ride members during 2021 but will also be made available to Rhayader and District residents who are non-members for a small fee (from £2.50 per trip).
Dial A Delivery will offer collection and delivery of prescriptions, shopping, library books and takeaways. But we don't just have to deliver your shopping...we can do your shopping too. We can take your shopping list over the phone and have one of our lovely volunteers do your shopping and then Billy our driver will deliver it to your door!
A ‘walk-assist service’ will also come under this provision, where a volunteer can provide assistance to those wishing to walk into and around town for shopping and appointments.
